Blog 1 – Senior Final Lesson/Interview Reflection

1.  What three lessons were most helpful for you to see, and why?

The first lesson I saw that was incredibly helpful for me was Matthew Ibarra's lesson. Ibarra's lesson was extremely helpful because of how exquisitely done and planned out his lesson activity was. The way he helped us through the activity to make sure w thoroughly understood it and showed us how it was like to be a power engineer really drew a lot of us in. The second and third lessons Im going to mention here are Ana Nieto and Diego Luna. They both did such a superb job of presenting their topic, Nieto did better with examples but where Luna really excelled was the commanding presense he had. He spoke in a way that made him very professional and made you want to listen to what he had to say. I plan to incorporate what these three did into my presentation as well.

2. List one thing that you learned about the senior project in interviews that will help you get off to a good start?

The Senior Project Interviews taught me that it will not be good to procrasinate on this project. But the seniors I interviewed also taught me to pace myself. That is the thing that I took away from the interviews because they basically told me to stay on top of my work while not trying to do too much at once so that I wouldn't unnecessarily overstress myself.

3. What topic(s) are you considering, and why?

Im considering doing my senior project on the Stock Market, Business Management or the United States Armed Forces. The reason I chose these as my potential topics is because I might want to join one of these fields when I finally graduate highschool or college.

4. What EQ do you think might be interesting to consider in guiding a project like this? (Please don't worry about any sort of formula...we want this question to come from your genuine interest).

An EQ that I thought would be an interesting EQ for the Stock Market would be "How do you become a successful stock broker?" This is the only that I really took time to think about as Business Management and United States Armed Forces are a little bit broader than the Stock Market so I would like to tailure my EQ to whatever specific job I decided to do in those fields.

5. What are some ideas you have about finding summer mentorship?

An oppurtunity I have for my summer mentorship is working with my aunts stockbroking firms American counterpart which is based in Los Angeles California. For the United States Armed Force, I have some older friends and my boss who all served formerly in the United States Armed Forces. I would also use my boss as a mentor for Business Management.
